John graduated from the University of Charleston with a B.S. in Political Science. After graduation, John obtained his law degree from Capital University-School of Law in Columbus, Ohio in 2003. He started his legal career as a Stark County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney . In 2007 he began working for a large Ohio regional law firm, where he became a Partner. During his 12 years at the firm, his legal practice focused on general commercial litigation, divorce, contract disputes, construction litigation, collections and personal injury.
John has been rated an Ohio Rising Star 2009-2012, 2015, and 2016 by Ohio Super Lawyer Magazine, a publication of Thomson Reuters. Thompson Reuters is the world's leading source of intelligent information for business and professionals.
He is the President of the Perry Township Youth Soccer Club, as well as a coach for his sons’ soccer teams. John also serves as a Board member of the Massillon West Stark Chamber of Commerce, the Stark County Bar Association Executive Committee, and the Stark County Bar Association Disputed Fees Committee. John also served six-year terms on the Board of Directors for The Workshops, Inc. and the Golden Key Center for Exceptional Children.
John and his spouse Hannah, an interior designer with Laura Yeager Smith Home and Design, have 3 children and live in Perry Township.
